Site Overview
THENULLSET.COM, founded somewhere around late 1999 by Mike when he was bored one day, is in a nutshell a geek-meets-world site. It has slowly through the years (and we do mean slowly) gained a steady readership for some odd reason, so we decided to keep posting stuff on here when we feel like it. This is not really a group blog, but it is kind of blog-like. Think of it as a The Onion meets TypePad blogs site, and you can get an idea of where we are coming from.
Whatever it is, we like doing it because we are geeks, and this is what geeks do between watching episodes of Star Trek and playing various computer games, and reading very long and very wordinated books. TNS is moderated by our three main heros, but we will be someday in the not-too-distant future be accepting some third-party submissions when we feel like it and when Mike gets off his lazy butt and does something useful with all that code in his ginormous brain.
The Founders
Jordan "I am most likely smarter than you" Racey
AKA: Gandalf, Jordan's Beard, The Wordinator
Jordan is one of the chief contributers to the site, and generally accepted as our our editor and human dictionary. He enjoys reading really long books like War and Peace, learning about old dead guys, and stroking his bearded chin. He likes to use words, and lots of them... especially really big words that most mortal men cannot pronounce. He is extremely hot, cool, popular, and most guys want to be him. He currently resides in Michigan, pending a trip to the UK for a year to do some graduate studies there.
Kevin "Let me Tell You How It Is" Gerhart
AKA: Admiral, The Great Kevinie
Kevin is another chief contributer to the site, and generally accepted as the greatest authority of Star Trek and things that have to do with Submarines. He enjoys watching his many DVDs and playing historically accurate video games. He is extremely hot, cool, popular, and most guys want to be him. He currently resides in Ludington, Michigan where he frequents the State park and helps run a couple area Christian youth clubs.
Mike "The Dumb Kid" Malburg
AKA: V01D, Supa-Mike, The Great Programming Blob
Mike is the founder and the punk that wrote the code for this site, and is generally not accepted by most people. He enjoys coding whilst double-fisting mountain dew cans and listening to loud music in his headphones. He also enjoys playing Warcraft and Age of Empires, watching movies, and various other things that require a computer or TV and sitting down. He is extremely hot, cool, popular, and most guys want to be him. He currently resides in Southern Alabama, where he avoids the harmful rays of the sun and the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.
FAQs
(Q) Guys: I love your articles, I think you are hilarious! I also saw some of your pics from your articles and I think you are SOOOOO HOT!! Will one of you date me?
(A) Thanks. We think so too. We get that all the time. You'll most likely just gonna have to line up at the back of the line behind all the other girls who have been waiting there to date us. It's only fair this way.
(Q) Hey I want to post an article on here? How do I do that?
(A) This isn't available yet. It's something Mike will eventually get to adding. There will be a neat little submission form which will magically add it to the review module where the tribunal will approve it, etc, and then it will be posted after we edit it as we please. Currently, email any one of us your articles and we may or may not review them, edit them, and post them. Please don't pester us about this though after you email it. If we don't post it even after reviewing it, don't whine and say that your feelings are hurt.
(Q) Mike: you code Will you do my website? I'll pay you!!
(A) No. Unless you want it to take loads of time, and you want to pay me loads of money. I have plenty going on in my life right now with work alone that I do not generally have any time left over to do freelance work. And more than likely I will not do any work for free unless you are a close friend who bribes me with mountain dew, pizza, computer games, and a million dollars. But I guess then you would be paying me. So probably not.
